Mitch recently picked up this loaded 80 Series off a mechanic, who put a lot of work into this humble Cruiser. Its running the classic Toyota 1HZ 4.2l NA engine,and sits on a 6inch lift with 35inchKM2 Mud Terrain tyres from BFGoodrich. Although a 6inch life is usually reserved for hardcore off-roaders or comp trucks, this 80 series still very much has touring and camping in mind. It has a duel battery setup,4 way diff breathers, custom after market fuel filter, roof cage and plenty of LED bars and spotlights to light the tracks up at night.

Mitch swapped his old school HiLux for the 80 Series. From the showroom the 80 series came extremely capable off-road,depending what model 80 series you can get your hands on, some of them even came out twin locked. Mitch got his hands on a DX model which was the base model back in the 90s. The DX came with barn doors,no factory flares, roll up windows and a no fuss interior. All 80 series though however had the solid front end and coils all round, which earnt them massive praise off-road.
