Jacks GQ Patrol is one of the cleanest and tastefully modified GQ’s Ive ever seen. Jack is the third owner of the truck, originally bought new buy the NSW Police force to be used as a riot squad car, it was then bought by his father in-law Rod at a police auction. Rod picked it up with about 80,000kms on the naturally aspirated 4.2L diesel engine at the time. The NSW police had looked after it fairly well serviced by their in-house mechanic. It was a great blank canvas for Rod to setup and travel Australia in.

Rod himself was a motorbike mechanic extremely handy on the tools and knew his way around the engine bay of this Nissan. Rod added a top mount intercooler,Garret turbo and even made his own 3inch exhaust system to really give this GQ some go. Rod also added basic overlanding upgrades like duel batteries, winch, spotlights and a fridge in the back.

While Rod did most of the modifications to the GQ. Jack is pretty happy to leave things as is,he gave it a new lick of paint and added a few things on his own like new tyers and lighting. Keeping it regularly maintained is hard enough for Jack with his growing family. All in all this truck will be driven in Jacks family for years to come.
