So Callum, what drew you to the Pajero?

Hard to say really. It started out with wanting a second car so I didn't always have to drive my work car and I came across a SWB Pajero for a good price. I'd never had a 4wd before but fell in love with it straight away. I ended up selling it on to family to get something a bit bigger and didn't really want anything other than another Paj. I bought this one blind and had to fly down and drive it back. It wasn't the tidiest when I got it but I loved it from the get-go. I’ve just always enjoyed that it's a bit left of centre. They're not the most common 4wds anymore so it feels good to keep this one going.

What surprised you the most about the Pajero?

I think I was pretty surprised by how well it can go off road. They get joked about a bit but it always gets me where i need to be and i’ve put it through some bloody tough stuff. I was pretty surprised by how hard parts are to get for it as well. It can be a bit of headache when I break things.

Plans for the future?

Just keep chipping away at it. It’s been a pretty big learning curve for me. I knew very little about cars and have had to teach myself a lot in the last two years. I think wanting to teach myself new skills just gives me reason to keep adding to it. I just bought back the SWB one I started with, which will keep me busy. So keep an eye out for that one in a year or two.
